Jasper's eye does not look particularly infected to me right now. It could be red from irritation or rubbing it, allergies, mites, or fleas. However, if you think it is getting worse, it should get checked out by a vet. Cats are very good at hiding illness, and he may be more uncomfortable than he is letting on.

A picture would be essential in this case to give you a specific answer.
Generally speaking, that is likely to be due to a mild to moderate conjunctivitis, probably secondary to a trauma or infection. A check up would be needed as appropriate treatment would include antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops. Corneal injuries must be ruled out as well.
