Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Mediumhair | Male | neutered | 10 months and 4 days old | 2 lbs

I am having some trouble with my cat and play aggression. He likes bite my hands and arms when I play with him and when I try to leave where we are playing he follows and jumps and bites me. I am wondering how I should discipline him in these situations? Do cat time outs work?

Yes, time outs do work! When Brodie starts biting you, tell him no and stop play immediately. Turn your back on him and ignore him. Only pay attention to him when he starts behaving well. If you leave and he follows you biting, tell him no again, and leave the room so where he cannot follow you. Only reward him with attention when he stops biting, and then resume play. This will hopefully get him to stop biting. Best of luck.
