There really is no way to know what the mass is without a surgical biopsy. I understand the hesitation going forward with surgery, but if it's growing you need to determine what it is, and biopsy is the best option to do so. This mass May just be inflammation or eosinophilia granuloma or it could be a cancerous mass. There are even cases of fungal disease causing nasal masses. If it is growing I would strongly recommend addressing it as soon as possible as surgery may become more difficult as it gets larger. Best of luck to Pol and I hope it is something easily treatable. However, I think a fungal infection like cryptococcus seems more likely and that would only respond to anti-fungal therapy. Another possibility is cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma. I recommend you consider having him reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. May be a biopsy could be done at this time since it has not improved. I would recommend taking Snow White to a veterinarian. This can be anything from a bacterial infection to a fungal infection (like ringworm). They can take a woods lamp (it is like a black light) to see if it glows green. If it does it is ringworm, if it does not it still could be. Only 50% of all ringworm shows up positive with this test. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Clyde! That is a very odd lesion! How old is Clyde? How long has the lesion been there and is Clyde rubbing it? I am thinking it is either ringworm, vasculitis, an immune condition, a tumor or trauma. I recommend having Clyde examined by your Vet. I am sorry to hear about Moonbeam! A photo of the area may help give us a better idea of what is going on. Bumps can be a sign of a skin infection (often in cats we see what is called miliary dermatitis which makes little small bumps on the skin. This can often be related to an allergy. Skin lesions also make us worry about yeast/fungal infection (such as ringworm). Swelling over the bridge of the nose with lesions may be indicative of an infection with a fungus called cryptococcosis. And in some cats, unfortunately we can get tumors of the skin. I would recommend an examination by your vet to help determine what is causing the bumps in Moonbeam and figure out how best to treat them!
