Why is my cat limping with a swollen leg and green discharge?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | unspayed | 8 years and 10 months old

Hi, when my cat came home she's limping, and then the next day her left front leg it became swollen she can't walk with it. Then now, i saw there's a green discharge in Metacarpal bone part. And just a small wound. What should i do? She lost her appetite today, but she ate a little. She drinks alot. I can't afford to go the vet, please help me in a way you can. Many many thanks. Btw, she's in heat when it happened.

It sounds like Kuro has a cat bite abscess and a severe fever from the infection. This will require antibiotics and antiinflammatory medications to be prescribed by your vet, especially when it is the lower leg that is affected as this can lead to very serious infections of the joints and bones. Contact your local humane society for information on subsidized clinics or ask if your vet can offer care credit
