My cat licked poop from her anus. Do I need an emergency vet?

Yes, I would take Luna into the vet. She's licking her anus a lot because it's bothering her, and if you are see a pale pus discharge coming from that area, I would be concerned that she has infected anal sacs. If she had been uncomfortable due to that, she could have been licking and scooting. This could irritate the anal tissue and make it bleed. If so, she could be having a flare up of skin disease. Lastly, if she has any intestinal parasites, it can make the anus itch. If the bleeding doesn't stop she will need to be re-evaluated. However, I always deworm these guys anyways, as roundworms are a common cause of rectal prolapse. Something like this usually works if that’s the problem. You may just monitor at this point. Eevee may end up with an upset stomach from eating feces and then again, she could be fine. You could feed her a diet of boiled white meat chicken and plain boiled white rice for the next 24 hrs if she will eat it (cats can be picky). As long as the cats are worm free, you don’t have to worry about anything being transmitted. Figure out who is pooping outside the box as this can be either behavioral or medical. Monitor for reoccurrence. Also get the cats on a good food routine as switching things up can lead to an upset stomach. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Poor Willow! There is a chance that she could have full, impacted or infected anal glands, or intestinal worms if she is licking her hind end. If she is lethargic and not eating or drinking normally, she see a vet immediately. Otherwise, it may be okay to wait until tomorrow. I hope that she feels better soon!

This kind of lump/growth needs to be ideally assessed by your veterinarian to have a definitive and specific answer. Usually there are two ways your vet can do that a part from examining it directly during physical examination. A biopsy can be taken under local or general anesthetic, otherwise a smaller sample through a fine needle can be aspirated (this technique is called FNA= fine needle aspiration). Differentials include skin cysts, infections, benign or more sinister type of tumors (very unlikely given the age). Treatment would depend on the underlying cause. Disinfection can eventually be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking.
