My cat's glucose is 70. Is this normal for a cat in remission?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 18 years and 2 months old | 8 lbs

Hi how are you? My cat’s name is Dimples and he is in diabetes rememission. He is 18 years old. He is off of insulin and doing well. I checked his sugar last night right after he ate and it was 70. I am just wondering what the normal glucose levels are supposed to be. I believe 70 is low. But I just wanted to to make sure, that I didn’t have to take him back to the vet for a checkup! I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you, Kaylee

Hello. The normal range of glucose for cats is 70-110, so you are on the low end of normal. This is OK & I would not be concerned about this as it is only one reading & as long as he is eating well & there is no excessive urination or water intake, Dimples is in excellent shape. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
