My cat has an eye infection. Should I use old drops or see a vet now?

It looks as Binx is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in cats. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.

First of all, if you didn't take her to your vet you need to do this so the eye can be checked first, it might be an eye injury or eye ulcer, in such a case the treatment will be different. Veterycin is an eye wash, it is not a medical drops and does not treat eye infections, if she has an infection she needs an antibiotic eye drops which you can get from your vet after he checks her eye.

Poor kittens! Eye infections can be viral or bacterial. Unfortunately you’re not likely to clear an eye infection with at home care. Just like with humans, these guys require antibiotic eyedrops which you will need to get from the veterinarian. I recommend to call your clinic and make an appointment ideally today. Eye infections in young kittens can become serious and cause permanent damage to the corneas. Bring the whole litter and the mother. Certainly cleaning off the teats and the rest of the environment will help but all the kittens have been exposed at this point. This really depends on the underlying issue with the eye and what kind of eye drops you have. There are many reasons for an inflamed eye in a cat and without doing a physical examination it's impossible to know what is going on. I'd recommend you see a veterinarian right away as eye issues can escalate quickly. Hello. Please do not put Visine in your kittens eyes. Visine can be drying & may make the eyes worse. Cinnamon has an upper respiratory infection, so to help the eyes, just take a cloth with warm water & gently clean away any discharge that collects around the nose & eyes. Make sure he keeps eating & try to encourage him to drink more fluids by offering chicken or beef broths & stocks & even tuna water. He should be OK to wait until you can see your vet.
