Not sure what got him but I just got home and noticed this on my cats side behind his shoulder. I can see the muscle and he's acting really calm which is not normal for him at all.

Your cat has a laceration that may need veterinary attention. It could be a bite wound, a ruptured abscess ( a localized infection) or a cut. It may need suturing or a drain placed if there is infection present or a bigger area that's unseen. Jismo may be quiet from pain or from a fever due to infection. I would take him to a vet who will take his body temperature, examine to wound further and decide if it needs to be sutured.
