I smoke around my cats daily, I was unaware of the effects smoking could have on them. They have developed a cough and it's not a cough like they would have with a URI, could it be possible that my cat could have cancer? COPD? or some type of problem associated with cigarette smoke?

Coughing in a cat can be due to a respiratory tract infection, heartworm disease or even heart disease. Your veterinarian will be able to examine Buckles to determine the cause of the cough and prescribe appropriate treatment. Given that it has been going on for a week, this cough is not likely to resolve on its own and veterinary care will be needed in order for Buckles to feel better.
