Suckling and needing can be a stress response thing, and sometimes cats can do it as a way to comfort themselves, or to relax in a stressful situation. Some cats may also do it when they are feeling calm and comfortable as a way of bonding. Making sure Jemma isn't being bothered by other pets or people, has plenty of exercise and playtime and has access to her own food, water, litter and hiding spots may help her to relax. Some cats may continue this behavior naturally up through adulthood, and may never stop, though it isn't really cause for concern unless you're seeing other signs of stress or illness along with it.
