Why is my spayed female cat attacking my male cat after her surgery?

This behavior is probably from her leaving the colony and then coming back. She is trying to find her place in the pecking order again. She was gone almost 2 weeks. Just leave her be and she should get back to normal in a week or so when the cats figure out the pecking order again.

This happens quite a bit actually. Could be territorial aggression - she left and now he is trying to tell her the house is his OR it could be that he feels threatened due to the way she smells when she returns. It sounds as though Sam has a behavioral problem with aggression. If you have not tried the Feliway products yet, I would recommend doing so. These are pheremone products that are supposed to help calm cats down. I would make sure that she has plenty of environmental enrichment (toys, scratch posts, etc.). This can cause stress in the older cat resulting in her to act out in aggression. Keep them separate unless they are fully supervised. They should be fine with each other in a few days. I would be most suspicious that this is a behavior issue rather than a more serious problem within the brain. For now, I recommend giving her a little time and see if her temperament improves. It's important to not treat her any differently, or try to handle her excessively. Treat her the same as you did before the procedure and handle her on her own terms. Hello, cats indeed are territorial and dont like unfamiliar smells. This means that your cat when he smells other cats on you, he does not recognize you sufficiently and will react with aggression mainly out of feer. It would be ideal that if you will be petting other stray cats that you wash your hands thoroughly and even change your clothes before interacting with Bascoot as this can not only make your cat afraid but also be a source of stress. Something is probably going on with her, she is possibly ill or in pain and that may be causing her to be aggressive. i would recommend taking her to the vet for a checkup and blood test to make sure she is in good health first.
