There are many pet insurances available right now, and they are all slightly different in coverage and how you are reimbursed for medical issues. That way you are never stuck without being able to pay in case of an emergency. Just be aware that CareCredit usually gives a 6-12 month interest free period but if you can't pay off the bill in that time frame the interest rate is astronomical (like close to 30%). Pet insurance plans vary greatly between companies, some cover preventative care like annual vaccines and examinations; while others only cover illness/accidents. Pet insurance also works a bit differently than human insurance in that you normally pay your vet bill at the office and are then reimbursed by your insurance company, so there aren't usually restrictions in terms of what vet office you can use. From experience, Nationwide and even Costco have great plans but everyone has different needs and wants so you will have to call around and get specific quotes from the insurance companies. Some veterinary clinics offer wellness plans that cover the spay / neuter. I would also call around to various clinics and see if there is a wellness plan you can enroll the kitten on to help cover the costs of preventative spaying / neutering. I hope this helps!
