Can I safely bathe my pregnant cat or use flea treatment on her?

The label on Advantage says to consult a veterinarian prior to use in pregnant cats. Typically, this means that insufficient studies have been performed to confirm the safety of this medication in pregnant cats. However, without examining Snot and performing further research, I cannot confirm the safety of this product if she is pregnant. To my knowledge, there is only one safe (supposedly) flea / tick treatment for pregnant / lactating cats. That is Frontline. I would still read the label carefully and see if the study they did revealed any weird birth defects in large numbers, but it is definitely supposed to be safe.

Veterinary formula flea and tick shampoo cannot be used on pregnant cats, so do not use it. I would use either Advantage or Revolution, both are safe to use on pregnant cats. The home spray is fine, but do not allow Sophie in the room where you use it until it's completely dry. Have her seen by a vet to diagnose what is causing the debris in her ears, which could be due to yeast, bacteria, or ear mites. I hope this helps!

You need to treat the puppy for fleas. You can use certain flea treatments on pregnant cats such as Revolution or Advantage flea treatment. I would use one of those on Snowbell. You will need to disinfect the environment as well to get rid of all the fleas. Make sure the puppy gets his vaccines, and once Snowbell has her kittens and they are weaned, vaccinate her. Hello. The manufacturer recommends consulting your veterinarian before using the collar. Generally, this means that testing was never done on pregnant or lactating cats. It is probably safe, but if anything happens, the manufacturer will not take any responsibility. I recommend one of the Frontline products, even the newest one, Frontline Gold. Keep them separated until her milk dries up. I strongly recommend you have her spayed as soon as possible before she becomes pregnant again. As long as they are at least 1.5 pounds in weight they should have a whole tube. If you are unsure of their weight you will need to weigh them. You can get a human baby scale or kitchen scale to weigh them. All animals in the household should receive flea treatment EVERY month and you should also treat the environment for fleas; indoors and outdoors or you will continue to have problems.
