Adams flea treatment failed. When can I apply Advantage to my cat?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

How long after I treated my cats with Adams spot on flea/tick (Methoprene, Etofenprox) can I apply Advantage II (Imidacloprid, pyriproxyfen)? I had only one Advantage left so 2 of the 3 had Adams instead, but it is not working for them (one stopped scratching and the other two didn't). I don't want them to suffer for another month because Adams didn't work.

I would say 14 days but you should call Adams as they are most familiar with their products. heir website states that it depends on the product you are switching to.

Please contact the Adams consumer response line at (800) 234-2269 for more information.

I hope this helps. Best wishes!
