My parrotlet only likes me. How do I get her to like my family?

I would recommend finding a treat that pink likes. Than I would recommend having only your wife and kids give pink that special treat. That way Pink starts to associate a really positive reward with the wife/kids. After they start to bond more I would start having the kids and wife handle and interact with Pink more. It may be a simple preference. Some pets, birds included, have their favorites. You can try to gain her trust gradually, but be prepared for rejection. Start by simply sitting by the cage for ever increasing periods of time. Progress to placing you hand in the cage for ever increasing periods of time. Make no attempt to touch or hold her. End each session with a small reward or treat. Be patient and be consistent. If it makes you feel better, I have a parrot close to 30 years old that I have cared for since she was a chick. She will bite me any chance she gets. It's not just you.

Two weeks is still a very short time for a bird to be with a new owner, and it can take months sometimes before a bird will start to bond with you. I would keep trying to be patient with Pearla, and give her more time to settle in and get used to you. If she has a favorite treat, you can offer it each time you come by to visit to help her get used to you, and if she becomes scared or stressed, take a break and try again later. If your other bird is getting used to you more quickly, it may also help Pearla with getting used to you if she sees the other bird trusts you too.

If at any time she becomes stressed out or bites, taking a break to let her relax and trying again later can help. It can take time for a bird to get used to their owner, so patience is key. Making sure Bright isn't too stressed out from her cagemates, and that she has plenty of fresh food, water, and toys to play with can help as well.

You can start by just offering them the treat by tossing it to them or their cage, until they are comfortable with you around. From there, you can work on offering a treat by hand, or letting them sit on your hand (most birds will bite if they come up on your shoulder and aren't used to you, so keeping them on your hand can help everyone feel comfortable!). As they get used to you, continuing to offer treats and just interacting with them can help you to bond. If they become stressed, bite, hiss, etc, placing them back in their cage and giving them a break, and then returning back to the previous step they were comfortable with is best.
