My female quail laid eggs apart. Will she incubate or move them?

I own 2 button quails. They started laying eggs. So far they have laid 3 eggs but in different area of the cages (not together). They are caged in a huge cage with breeding canaries (9 canaries total in a cage). I was wondering will the female quail incubate them if they are in different areas laid or will she ignore them? I read somewhere that if she lays eggs in different areas of the cage she won’t sit on them. But in another article I read that she will later move them together. whats true??

I would ideally move the quail to their own cage if you are attempting to breed them so they are not harassed by the canaries which can cause more distress. Give her a day or to see if she moves the eggs on her own, and if she doesn't you may need to move or incubate them yourself, especially if this is her first clutch. You can also candle the eggs after a bit s to see if they are viable.

If you don't have a male parakeet along with your female, then the eggs are not viable anyway and should be removed. If you're attempting to raise a clutch, I would make sure the egg stays in the nest in the hopes she moves it back over and sits back on it.

My female cockatoo laid an egg, no male. Should I remove it?

You can remove it or leave it in there for a few days. Some birds may be broody at first and she may not want you to take the egg. It won’t hurt her to lay in it for a couple days. All female birds will lay eggs even if there is not a male present. These eggs are not fertilized so throwing them away is fine. My budgie's nest box broke. Can I move her eggs without abandonment?

You can try to move the eggs if the nest is beyond repair, however do note that the eggs are EXTREMELY fragile, and are likely to break or crack even with gentle handling. If the nest is still viable enough that she is able to properly lay on the eggs without her or the eggs/hatchling being harmed, then not disturbing it, or disturbing it as little as possible is best.
