If you think she is losing weight and malnourished then you should re-evaluate her diet. Birds do not do well on an all seed diet so, if seeds are the majority of her diet you need to change that. Hello. Pedro should be eating 70% compete pelleted food like ZuPreem or Roudybush. A high quality seed mix or nitro berries worth fresh vegetables can make up the remainder of the diet. A diet of only millet with some greens and herbs is deficient in many important nutrients (protein, vitamin A, etc). I’d strongly recommend an exam by a veterinarian soon to assess overall heath and work diligently to transition him to a pelleted diet. Offer a commercial pelleted diet moistened with warm water or a hand feeding formula to stimulate his appetite and get some nutrition into him. Keep him warm and as stress free as possible until he sees the veterinarian.

With the signs that you are seeing, I would be concerned about something serious due to his age. With weight loss despite an appropriate appetite, there may be a disease that is consuming all of his energy so he has higher nutrition requirements than normal. The weakness that you are appreciating with the lack of gripping may go along with this as well. One disease that is very common in older budgies is problems with the kidneys - this can manifest as weakness in the legs as well as watery droppings.
