Will my hand-raised parrot survive if released into the wild?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

I have an Indian ringneck parrot and I'm caring him since he was two weeks old and I got him as he fell from the nest. Now he is 8 weeks old and he's very much attached to us. I wanna ask that after he grows to the age where he can survive in the outside world we will set him free so will he leave us or will not go????

Unfortunately if he has been growing with you since he was so young, he is unlikely to survive in the wild when you will release him, he will probably leave and not stay with you though, if you give him the option to leave.
