Unfortunately it is up to your budgie to try new foods! You can try offering them in a variety of ways, for example cut into small bits and also in large/whole pieces in case one way is more appealing than another. Also you can try offering in a variety of locations, such as in a food dish, on the floor of the cage, and hanging from the roof of the cage to see if they have any interest if the location is different.

While budgies can subsist on just their daily diet, fruits and veggies are a great way to provide an extra treat. The key to getting them to eat/try it is to just keep offering items. Try it for a day, remove it, and then try another safe item or piece of the same fruit again. Hanging it in a toy, or placing it in different locations in the environment may also encourage your budgie's curiosity. Once he is more comfortable and finally tries something, it should be much easier to introduce more items.
