I have 4 budgies. They have been pooping a mix of black and green poop. I’ve heard that black poop means my budgies are sick, however their seeds are a mixture of brown and black seeds. Is it the black seeds that produce black poop?

Thanks for reaching out about your budgie and including photos. Stool color can vary depending on diet. Dark is sometime due to increased bile in the stool and might or might not be an indication of illness. If acting and eating well, you can probably monitor for now. If you are concerned, a veterinary visit is recommended to assess health.
Good luck.

The black stool may indicate infection or internal bleeding. Ideally, she should be physically examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian to diagnose and treat the underlying cause. This should be done sooner rather than later since birds are good at concealing illness or injury until they are very sick.
