Why is my bird throwing up, puffed up, and closing her eyes?

Regurgitation can be caused by inhaled or ingested toxins (plants, paint, zinc, lead, etc.), metabolic problems (liver or kidney disease), infectious agents, gastrointestinal foreign bodies, just to name a few. Vomiting in birds can be caused by various diseases, the most common would be bacterial and fungal diseases. it could also be a foreign body ingestion. if the vomiting carries on i strongly recommend that you take Snow to an avian vet specialist in order to get it checked and treated.

Regurgitation is not normal, but could be due to over-feeding, a crop infection or impaction, sub-optimal husbandry, viral diseases, and other. Older birds are more likely to have eaten a foreign body, something toxic, metabolic diseases, and others. If continues to regurgitate, a veterinary visit is recommended. Good luck.

This sounds like Piku is pretty ill and needs to be seen by a vet. Vomiting and lethargy are both very general signs of illness, and since birds are very good at hiding being sick, if Piku is showing visible signs he should be treated by a vet in person. In the meantime, keeping him in a warm hospital cage with access to food and water may help, but if the problem persists, vet care is needed.

If Rio has been vomiting for a week straight, or you suspect she ate part of a foreign item, those are both very concerning signs. I would seek veterinary care ASAP to rule out any issues such as a foreign body from eating parts of her bed, illness causing GI upset, parasites, infections, etc. It could also be that she is regurgitating as a sign she wants to mate, especially if it is only in one specific area/on her nest. Removing the bed may help resolve this issue some. It is also a good idea to remove the bedding if she is attempting to eat it, and to remove any extra treats or food other than her regular diet to see if that helps improve her symptoms- however, if they continue, seeking veterinary care is needed.

The "spitting up" may be vomiting which can be serious in birds. Vomiting can be caused by infection, obstruction, trauma, toxicity or nutritional deficiency. It differs from regurgitation (which is normal) in that a vomiting bird will rapidly flick it's head from side to side as ingesta is expelled. This can come from the crop or stomach. When a bird regurgitates, the head will bob up and down as partially digested or while food will come up. Ideally, Sydney should be examined by your veterinarian or an experienced avian veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury. Contact your friend for additional history which may aid in a diagnosis. Blood work, fecal exam and and examination of crop/stomach contents may be indicated after a physical exam.

Vomiting is a very concerning issue, and if Cutie is unable to keep any food down, is losing weight, or is otherwise showing other signs of illness, seeking veterinary care ASAP (and separating her from your other birds into a hospital cage) is best. Infections, GI issues, parasites, crop issues, etc can all be possible causes.
