Clotrimazole (Lotrimin) can be tried, with or without the steroid. It is always recommended to apply a thin layer of the product on the skin and allowing it to air dry for 20-30 minutes. The product should not be allowed to be licked by your pet during the drying timeframe, and gloves should be worn when handling this medication. Use care when treating a large area, smaller areas of application are preferred. If no improvement is seen within 7-14 days then most pets require an oral anti-fungal prescription medication from their veterinarian.

Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would recommend using the below products as I have found they work the best with these cases. If after using these there is no improvement, I would recommend having a veterinarian examine her in case oral antibiotics / antifungals are needed. I hope these help! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further! 1. Douxo PS Chlorhexidine combination shampoo and bathe twice weekly until resolved 2. Douxo PS mousse and apply once daily until resolved 3. Welactin omega 3 fish oil capsules for dogs 4. I don;t recommend to start an antibiotic unless it is confirmed there is a bacterial or protozoal problem. When antibiotics are used without just cause, that's how antibiotic resistance can develop. Here is a link about vomiting: https://www.petcoach.co/article/vomiting-in-cats/ Have Zuma examined again if needed. I hope he feels better quickly!

Hello. It is possible that your kitty has a sensitivity to the Zymox, but really anything, even water, can cause a reaction in the inner ear. The first thing to do is stop using the Zymox, & be very, very careful about ever putting anything in her ears. For the most part, Zymox is very safe. I know of no broad spread problems with this product. But individual animals can react in odd or strange manners to some medications, even benign ones. It might be a good idea to have your cat examined by your veterinarian to make sure nothing else is amiss & especially to make sure the ear drums are OK & have not been ruptured. Make sure you tell your vet about this possible reaction between the Zymox & the dilated eyes as this may impact what can be used in the future. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! This looks like a focal infection. You can try to use a topical medication containing chlorhexidine twice weekly for 2 weeks. If there is no improvement or in the meantime this appears to be getting worse, have her evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Good luck and have a good one!
