I would say Joey is a large breed dog based on his mix of breeds. I recommend feeing him a high quality large breed dog food. These foods will have joint support, which is great for bigger dogs. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I hope this helps!

If it is your only option, I think you are fine feeding the Maxi adult food. I am not as concerned with large breed vs medium breed vs small breed in adult dogs as I am in puppies. The biggest difference in these adult diets are the size of the kibble (the bigger the better, in my opinion!) and possibly the fat content. You may need to adjust how much you are feeding Heisenberg (use the guidelines on the bag) and his body condition.

Royal Canin is an excellent food company. All the diets are balanced for dogs for the specific stage of life. No additional supplements are needed and you can actually cause harm by adding in extra supplements (especially in a large breed dog). My recommendation is to not add any vitamins/supplement - definitely DO NOT add calcium as you will cause growth problems. Here is an article on this subject. Hope this helps. Best wishes. Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I am not sure I am reading this right but I will try to clarify what I think you mean. Prince should be fed a large breed puppy food. In the States, giant breed is for mastiffs and Great Danes so large breed is perfect for a Rottweiler. Royal Canin makes excellent puppy and dog food. At 5 weeks he can definitely have puppy food as long as he has teeth. You may need to water down the dry food to make it softer for him to chew. These foods are designed for young puppies until about 1 year of age. It has the proper blend of vitamins and minerals to help his body and organs grow. I would continue to feed the Royal Canin. In the States we call biscuits “treats”, so as long as you mean biscuits is food and not treats you should be all set. I hope this helps. Good luck and kisses to Prince!

Yes, you can try another food if Dante seems healthy otherwise. Stick with high quality brands and formulas for large breed puppies since Dante is expected to be a very large dog. Brands like Purina ProPlan and Science Diet are good options. If he continues to not eat well, have him examined by the veterinarian. Also, be sure to slowly change the diet over the course of 5-7 days to help avoid an upset stomach. I hope this helps.
