In general, you should avoid any grain free diets. Pets generally don't have allergies to grains and I recommend to feed a high quality diet such as Purina ProPlan, Science Diet or Royal Canin. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Great question! I actually recommend a food with grains in it. Grains are good for cats, and they provide a lasting source of energy and fuel. Grain free is a marketing ploy and fad, and there is no proof at all that grains are bad for cats. Having a diet with grains in it will provide Kitty with more fuel for his high energy life. Brands I recommend including Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, or Iams. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I like EVO, Nutro and Avoderm brands. You ask 15 vets and you'll get 15 answers :) It is personal opinion for sure. I would try a brand and see if you cat likes it. If so, and it seems to agree with her then continue. If it doesn't seem to agree with her (diarrhea, vomiting, poor hair coat, less energy) then I would try a different brand until you find one that does agree with her. I hope this helps! Best wishes to you and Pitsy!

Hi there! Hunny Cat is very cute! I believe it's better to feed cats canned food. It has more moisture and adds a little bit more hydration to their daily intake. Later in life, cats can commonly develop kidney disease and/or urinary bladder disease. In both cases, cats will benefit greatly from the increased water content of a canned diet. The canned food is a lot better too to help keep an indoor cat's weight in check. All indoor cats have a tendency to become overweight, as they don't exercise as much as feral cats. Since cats usually will ingest the canned food right away, it is easier to portion the food out and also provide cats with meal times. This is very helpful to increase their metabolism, and to help discourage them from gaining weight. Far too often, we see cats being fed a pile of dried food in a bowl where they eat buffet-style on and off all day long. This can easily lead to weight gain and obesity, as well as all sorts of health problems. Nutro is good food, and so

Hello and thank you for reaching out to Boop by Petco. Purina makes several options of grain-free diets for cats, and this is a reputable brand. That being said, most veterinarians do not recommend feeding grain-free diets to cats or dogs. Grains provide vital nutrients to cats (and dogs) and do not cause any harm. Most food allergies in cats and dogs are to specific types of proteins, not grains. Some grain-free diets are lower in carbohydrates, which means that they can be quite high in both fat and calories. Other grain-free diets merely substitute similar amounts of highly refined starches such as those from potatoes or tapioca (cassava) in place of grains. These ingredients may provide fewer nutrients and less fiber than whole grains, while costing more. Please see the attached link to learn more about the truth about grain-free diets, and share with your friends! http://vetnutrition.tufts.edu/2016/06/grain-free-diets-big-on-marketing-small-on-truth/. I hope this is helpful!
