Hello. No, this sounds pretty normal for a puppy ( many will experience bouts of hiccups ). However, metronidazole is an antibiotic & will do nothing for the roundworms. Ask your vet about this & make sure Hachiko receives something like pyrantel pamoate to remove all the roundworms from her GI tract. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

The order should be as followed: Cerenia first thing in the morning, one hour later Omeprazol and Sucralfate, then half an hour later Metronidazole (with food). If he does not throw up and his appetite is fine then there is nothing to worry about.

Hi there! Thanks for using Boop by Petco! I agree with your veterinarian. Sometimes small intestinal bacteria (the good and needed bacteria) can be depleted with the use of antibiotics. For this reason, I think it would be worth considering a probiotic which your veterinarian could prescribe which help reestablish the good bacteria. Otherwise, if Snowball does not improve, it would be worth considering further diagnostics such as an abdominal ultrasound to rule out possibilities such as inflammatory bowel disease though this seems unlikely. I think this could help her. Good luck!

Without seeing Z in person, I can't say what is the best course of treatment for him. I'd trust your vet's decision, but if you do have questions, you can always take him into another vet for a second opinion.

Hi there and thank you for using pet coach to address your concern. Yes, metronidazole can cause diarrhea. If you are seeing diarrhea or vomiting while on this antibiotic I would recommend discontinuing the drug and contacting the prescribing veterinarian to discuss this further. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. I would add in a probiotics such as Purina fortiflora as well.
