Thanks for using Boop by Petco! If well-tolerated, the Metacam should not shorten her lifetime. I would recommend you continue to monitor the bloodwork closely to make sure that it is being well tolerated in which case it should not affect her life expectancy. Best of luck!

Hello. You will need to get just a little bit tough with Pookie. You need to scruff her & tilt her head back so that her nose is pointed straight up. This will actually relax her jaw a bit where you can introduce the syringe into the side of her mouth. Drip the Metacam in & then praise her well. This is sometimes the only way I can medicate my own cats. Hope this helps & thanks for using Boop by Petco.

No, you cannot give her any more metacam today as she already got it by Injection at the end of the surgery and this medication can only be given once a day. Try to keep her on a soft surface with a gentle bedding, try offering her treats and keep her occupied with very gentle playing. Tomorrow she will already feel much better.

That may result in gastrointestinal signs such as vomiting, diarrhoea even with fresh or digested blood in it (due to ulcers) or may lead to kidney failure ( which can happen acutely). Metacam is a liquid and gets rapidly absorbed ( so make her sick is usually not very useful). If you notice any of signs such as vomiting ,diarrhoea ,lethargy ,depression ,inappetence, increased drinking level increase urination or complete cessation of it, then I would recommend (even after several hours or few days from ingestion) to take her to your veterinarian for a check up.
