Metacam Oral Suspension is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) oral medication used to treat pain and inflammation in dogs. Meloxicam has been used in cats for osteoarthritis, pain and inflammatory conditions. Metacam works by inhibiting the cell's production of chemicals that trigger inflammation.

Metacam should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Try to give this medication at about the same time each day (preferably after or with a meal). To prevent accidental overdosing of small dogs, administer drops on food only, never directly into the mouth. Shake well. Measure liquid medication using the syringe provided with product.
