I suggest you take your cat to a veterinarian for a weigh-in and a wellness exam. Your vet can tell you if your cat is underweight. You can also use a body condition score chart to monitor her body condition as weight alone is not a reliable way to assess a cat's condition. If your vet says your cat is in good condition then you will not need to change food. Should you have to "fatten" her up you should use a complete cat food manufactured by a reputable company such as Iams, Hill's, Royal Canine, etc.. You can feed kitten food for a few weeks until she has the target condition specified by your vet. Here is a body condition chart: https://vet.osu.edu/vmc/sites/default/files/images/Body%20condition%20score%20chart%20cats_0.pdf

Consider diets from the Royal Canin, Natural Balance or Instinct lines. You can also discuss hydrolyzed diets and commercial raw diets with your veterinarian. The local Petco should stock several commercial raw diets.

Hello. Holly may have developed diarrhea from the higher fiber content in the weight control diet. I think I might try feeding a 50-50 mix of the 2 foods to see if that controls the diarrhea. If she continues to have loose stools, then adding a probiotic, like Purina's feline Forti Flora might help. If you do switch her back to the regular adult Iams, you will either need to feed her a lesser amount or put some of the kibble into an activity food ball. This way, she will receive a little extra exercise will snacking on her food. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Thanks for using Boop by Petco! There is diet that would be perfect for him because it can help him lose weight and it is also well-balanced. It is the Science Diet metabolic weight management diet. If you wish to not use a weight loss diet then any of the Science Diet foods for adult cats would be great for him. Good luck and have a great day!

Thanks for trying to be proactive about Fici's health! It's a shame you cannot get the Metabolic diet shipped to you as this diet is great for weight loss. An Alternative for Fici is Royal Canin Weight Control. I'd recommend feeding an all canned diet as this is more likely to help with weight loss than dry foods. If you cannot find any prescription diets then another type of canned food may still help with weight loss. Weruva makes canned foods that tend to be lower in calories and are available in pet stores or online. Thanks for using Boop by Petco and good luck with Fici!
