New PetMy puppy is 8 weeks old and she is very good at peeing on her pee pad and going outside but she never poops outside or on her pee pad. How do I train her to not go everywhere around the house or while that come with time?
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! That is an excellent question and actually a somewhat common issue. This will only improve with time if you teach her well now. What I recommend is that when she does go inside (and not in the pad), you discourage that behavior as much as possible. When that happens, I recommend that you take the poop and put it in the pad and make sure that she smells it. When she finally goes in the pad, make sure to praise her and give her treats to let her know that this is the desired behavior. Keep in mind that this may take time but eventually, she will learn to do it the right way. Best of luck!
