Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! There is diet that would be perfect for him because it can help him lose weight and it is also well-balanced. It is the Science Diet metabolic weight management diet. If you wish to not use a weight loss diet then any of the Science Diet foods for adult cats would be great for him. What are the best alternative weight loss foods for an overweight cat?
Thanks for trying to be proactive about Fici's health! It's a shame you cannot get the Metabolic diet shipped to you as this diet is great for weight loss. An Alternative for Fici is Royal Canin Weight Control. I'd recommend feeding an all canned diet as this is more likely to help with weight loss than dry foods. If you cannot find any prescription diets then another type of canned food may still help with weight loss. Is Fancy Feast making my cats fat? How can I help them lose weight?
Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Hill's G/D diet is a great diet to feed older cats. It may have slightly less protein than is needed for younger cats. Unfortunately, Fancy Feast has a higher amount of fat and salt in it, so it does cause cats to gain weight. I recommend feeding your other cats a dry kibble, there are light or diet options from Hill's available as well. Being overweight can cause diabetes and other medical conditions in cats, so it is definitely a good idea to have them lose their extra weight. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! A great diet for Summer would be Hill's Science Diet metabolic weight management diet. This is a dry diet. I recommend that you feed her the amount recommended in the bag based on her weight. This diet is very effective for this purpose. Good luck and have a great day!

My cat is losing weight. What's the best dry food to help her gain?
Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Bingy! I am not sure how old Bingy is but I would highly recommend a Vet visit and blood work first. Losing 3 pounds, that isn't planned, worries me. If her blood work comes back normal, I would deworm her then treat her for presumptive IBD. I would recommend either a novel protein diet (avoid chicken, trying all fish, vension, rabbit, duck) or a prescription novel protein or hydrolyzed diet. I hope this helps and I wish Bingy the best!
