Thanks for reaching out about your finch and including photos. A veterinary visit is recommended but understand if one is not available, but only limited things can be done at home. Weakness can have multiple causes, with infections being only one possibility. Provide heat support in the 80-85 F range can give some support. Finches eat primarily seed but also need a vitamin/mineral/protein support in the form of a wide variety of vegetables. Provide a soft bedding/towels on the bottom of the cage to protect if falls. Good luck.

Finches do best in pairs. Keeping them with budgies would not be recommended since they may get bullied. Finches also require longer cages that allow them to fly about, while budgies do fine in taller cages because the like to climb.

It is best to go with the cage that has the most horizontal flight space. Peaked cages are OK looks-wise, but make sure it is safe and feet and wings can't get caught where the edges meet. Avoid round shaped cages as well as it can sometimes stress birds out to not have a corner they can hide and relax in. Any cage should have enough room to move around a bit, have some toys for enrichment, and have a place to quietly rest aside from food and water locations.

Make sure she has a balanced diet consisting of a pelleted diet, a fortified seed mix and small amount of fresh greens, fruits and vegetables. Provide a mineral block and/or cuttlebone. You can provide a birdbath or mist her with warm water a couple times a week to promote preening and healthy plumage.

Hello and congratulations on your new friend, King! Parakeets make wonderful pets, and they are a great first bird for a new bird owner. It sounds like you have everything in order, but I'd definitely get King some toys sooner rather than later as parakeets do require mental stimulation - they are very intelligent! Taming will take some time and patience. Using a perch to entice him to step up can be a good place to start, though I recommend waiting a few days to allow him to adjust to his new surroundings first. Yummy treats can be helpful - dried fruits and veggies are a good choice. Here are some good tips on taming your parakeet: http://www.budgiekeet.com/taming.html Good luck, and I hope King adjusts well! :)
