We are desperate for help with crating Woody. From 4 am on he whines and cries. We give him a VetriScience Composure Behavioral Health snack before bed, and give him plenty of toys (right away and when he starts whining). We even got a larger crate for him (30 inches), and cover it so it's den like. Is there anything stronger that will keep him sleeping longer? What can we do to help him ease into crating? We are ready to give up on crating/put him in another room :(
I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. The measurments on the box are for a dog even taller/wider than mine... but the crate doesnt really seem big enough for her to turn around in (unless she kind of squirmed up into a circle). Do you think I need to buy a larger crate? Why does the size on the box say its good for the dog's size.. / ?
Any tips about crate intolerance? I would like to have my dog crate trained because he poops when I leave even though he is potty-trained. Also I feel like a safe space would be good for him as he also has separation anxiety.
What size crate should I purchase for an adult German Shepherd I am planning to adopt?
Puppy has been pooping in her crate/stepping all over it for 2 nights. Tried dividing crate into a small area & once w/ a larger area, didn’t change anything. Slept on floor next to crate 1st night and no accidents. Crate is in our walk thru closet. Work from home so shes been constantly with us since getting her. Daytime potty training going great, take her out plenty before bed. No infections. Unsure if this is normal puppy anxiety that will improve w/ time or a deeper issue. What should we do
Hello. Spooky has been chewing on stuff and sometimes pees and poops at home, which is weird cause he was trained. I am worried cause he started chewing his blanket and the house's wooden skirting boards. As a result, he vomited a huge clump of wood and fabric. I heard about crating but I see there are many different opinions about it, it's even considered a cruel practice by PETA. We are away for 12 hours in weekdays. What is your advice?
Need help for potty training. Tips and any advice. He uses the bathroom in his crate even though its only big enough for him to sit down, turn around, and lay down. He will lay in it without heditation
I have to put my dog in his crate overnight as he rips the wallpaper off the wall but last night he had a pee and a poo in his crate. His crate isn't too big for him so why is he doing this? I give him his tea at 5 o'clock and I let him out at 9 o'clock so why is he pooping through the night?
So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. What should I do? Also she had had all her bloodwork done and nothing is wrong. She is 30’’ tall and 30’’ long.
Hello- I got my standard poodle last week (today he is 9 weeks old!) I have been crate training. His crate is located in my living, I have a small one story ranch style house. I have been trying not to let him out during the night and not letting him see me (trying to have him learn to hold his bladder at night). He has been barking, whining, howling most hours of the night. I am wondering if I should move his crate in my bedroom, in hopes of less barking/whining. What would your opinion be?
Dog hasn't went the bathroom in 30 hours
I stopped keeping my dog in a crate overnight since he had diahorrea in his crate and had to lay in it until morning when I woke up. I don't want this to happen again but last night he chewed up a wire. He has peed in his crate before and if I do start to keep him in overnight I don't want him to have an accident in there and then have to lay in it. Is it okay to start keeping him in his crate overnight and how likely is it that he will use the crate as a bathroom? I've attached a photo of it
