What size crate should I purchase for an adult German Shepherd I am planning to adopt?
I've moved and to get my cat acclimated I've decided I'm going to crate him while we are working. The crate i have is 42"x28"x30", with a dual level. Will this be enough space for my cat? He is 14y/o, and will be crated for 6-8 hours 5 days a week for a few weeks, until he gets used to the area. Of course he'll be inside the house, and let out in the evenings and sometimes for a bit on lunchtime.
I want to crate train my 1 year old dog. I bought a "medium" crate for her , shes 25 lbs - aussie/dashund mix so shes kind of long shaped. The measurments on the box are for a dog even taller/wider than mine... but the crate doesnt really seem big enough for her to turn around in (unless she kind of squirmed up into a circle). Do you think I need to buy a larger crate? Why does the size on the box say its good for the dog's size.. / ?
So my dog keeps peeing in her kennel. I have started making more frequent potty breaks and that has helped some. But she still has accidents about twice a week. So I have thought about getting her a smaller kennel. She is in a 42’’ wire kennel. She can lay in a ball in the corner of it and not take up much room. She is too tall for a smaller kennel. What should I do? Also she had had all her bloodwork done and nothing is wrong. She is 30’’ tall and 30’’ long.
I need your help here. I've been thinking to purchase a crate and a crate bed and crate cover for my little girl. Since she loves to nap under the table and I thought it'll be much safer and comfortable for her to sleep there from time to time. And safer from the friend's and families children from hurting her. Do you think this would be a good idea?
I got a wooden house for the dog, i will put warm blankets on the inside, and her pillow/bed on the inside. The door is plastic three stripes. Can I leave her to sleep and stay at the balcony at night or during the day ? temperature goes down to -5 celsius
Need help crate training. Will sleep fine at night, and in car. Will sometimes whines in the crate alone (say 2 out of 10 times ). She has a dog run and she is doing very well in there increasing her times in there as I do school online. How long should we get her comfortable in there if she has a big sheltered dog run ?
I'm having trouble trying to find the proper enclosure for my dog. She seems to be having separation anxiety and she already destroyed a part of my door after only being alone for 2 hours. I'm gone for work for about 9 hrs a day so I don't want something where she wouldn't be able to move comfortably..what should I do?
Any tips about crate intolerance? I would like to have my dog crate trained because he poops when I leave even though he is potty-trained. Also I feel like a safe space would be good for him as he also has separation anxiety.
Hello. Spooky has been chewing on stuff and sometimes pees and poops at home, which is weird cause he was trained. I am worried cause he started chewing his blanket and the house's wooden skirting boards. As a result, he vomited a huge clump of wood and fabric. I heard about crating but I see there are many different opinions about it, it's even considered a cruel practice by PETA. We are away for 12 hours in weekdays. What is your advice?
I have just got a 2 month old teacup poodle (3 days ago) I made a large enclosed area in my front room with plenty of toys and an area were she can do her toilet . I also have 2 beds in there 1 which is a covered house and another a standard bed. My problem is the dog just keeps crying When I leave the penn. she is fine when playing. Should I put her in a crate at night as she just cries all night in the penn I sleep on the sofa but it does not help. Please advise Sleepless in Japan
I believe my dog is experiencing a serious case of separation anxiety. When he is crated he instantly tries to get out by bending the door of the crate and bruises up his nose in the process and paws. He barks uncontrollably as well as urinates and defecates in the home even after going out numerous times throughout the day. This would all happen any time I am not home even for short periods of time, e.g. 1-2 hrs. What can I do to help my dog relieve his destructive behavior?
