Twist off the bottom cap and install the 3 AAA Batteries (included). Turn on the unit and shine on carpet or other surface. For best results, the room should be as dark as possible. Pet urine will glow under the Spot Spotter HD Light, revealing the source of the odor. Once you've identified the exact source of the odor, use Simple Solution Stain & Odor to completely eliminate all traces of the odor-causing residue.

Questions
I am finding purple and yellow areas when using the light. Are they both urine?
- I’m not sure to be honest. I would just Google “purple vs. yellow when using black light”. Perhaps other spots could be previous stains that have been cleaned but still show under black light.

Does this light work to find scorpions?
What turns purple when you use the light?I see much more purple than I do fluorescent yellow when I use the light
- What you see turning purple is anything with phosphorous and protein, such as urine. It will shine as purple, not yellow.

Does this work for detection of ringworm?
- I had a vet years ago who used a black light to detect mange. Not sure about detecting ringworm. Do an internet search about detecting ringworm.

My cat rubs his butt on the carpet after a loose poop and leaves small streaks of poop on the carpet. Cant always see where he does this. Will this product show feces or only urine?

- Yes, actually works better on hard surface because the urine collects rather than soaks in. Works best to turn off all your lights and use in the dark.
