Yes, you may use it outside. My friend put it on her outdoor deck for her dog. If it rains or snows you may have to empty some water from the tray the same way you empty the urine.

Try no scent soap like dear hunters use before they hunt. My dog got skunked one time and that soap took all the smell away!

if you are asking if the dog will use the indoor / outdoor potty patch yes. Mine were fully house broken when I bought it and it took them about 1 week to start using it. When your dog urinates outside wipe it up with a paper towel then wipe the paper towel onto the potty patch so they smell it. when they use it praise them and give them treats. spray down all 3 pieces well with hose once a week, spray with cleaner and let dry outside. remove feces after they go with toilet paper and flush down toilet. best product ever i have two in my house for my 2 small dogs

is your cat declawed? If yes, this might hurt her paws a lot as the cat already avoids the litterbox. If no, what have you tried for litterboxes? Only litter? And what kind of litter? YES! I live in a 3-story townhouse. I don't have a backyard -- only a balcony/patio. I bought a dog door for the sliding glass door and my dog leaned to use it the same day I bought it. I bought the potty patch. I also bought the spray from PetCo that encourages your dog to potty where you spray it. I sprayed the potty patch. At first my dog didn't understand what I wanted her to do. She would wait until we went for a walk to potty. I carried the artificial grass mat from the potty patch with us on our walks. When she indicated she was ready to potty, I put the artificial grass down and she relieved herself on it. I praised her heavily each time she used it. After the walk she watched me put it back on the balcony. I praised her again. After about 2 weeks of this, she started going out her dog door and using the potty patch on the balcony all by herself. It really does work. Be consistent and be patient. Your dog will get it.

Can be used for both. Our chiweenie did use it for a while pooping and peeing on it, but he has gotten pretty good about pooping outside(still pees on the Potty Patch at times when no one gets him out in time). We had to train our chiweenie to use the Potty Patch, but didn't take too long for him to learn to use it. We use it for him to use at night, as I'm a heavy sleeper and my wife is disabled.

I clean ours about once a week for our chiweenie and it seems to do the job as far as the smell goes---use Dawn kitchen soap for clean-up. Cleaning it twice a week would be even greater I would assume.
