Could you please recommend an activity tracker for my puppy (one that does not require a monthly subscription)?
Hi, my name is Julia and I am a college student working on a device that will function as a smart collar for dogs. I know the market already has some of these but I was wondering what features do you think are the vital ones that need to be included in this device. We have a GPS tracker, hope to have a heartbeat sensor, and outside temperature thermometer. But what else do you think would be vital to have measured to have a comprehensive image of a dog's health? We would really appreciate it!
We think our chihuahua ate half of a fitness tracker wristband. He’s acting completely normal with eating and pooping and he pooped a few pieces out two days ago. Should we be concerned or just let it run its course?
Hello, I just finished reading "8 Pet Trends to Watch in 2019". My question is: "Genetic Testing for Pets" talks about dogs - is this also for cats? Thank you in advance!

Hi! I am a college student working on a "smart" dog food bowl. Our project aims to address epidemic of dog obesity, as 56% of dogs are overweight; this statistic indicates that there is room in the market for a food monitoring solution that would improve pet health in the long-run. The bowl would come equipped with a scale/sensor connected to an application that recommends servings. Do you think both water and food should be weighed? Or just food? Is there a value in weighing water like food?
I have two neutered cats who love being outside. We live in a mountainous area with wildlife, so we are trying to keep them inside but they learned how to open doors. We are trying to decide b/w a wireless pet fence in our yard where they wear large-ish shock collars (even though they are smaller for cats) all the time as the company says not to wear for more than 12 hours or to just put cat trackers on them and find them every night. Which is safer?
Hi! I'm planning a long hike (2 weeks/6-8 hours a day), and I want to make sure that won't overwork my 2 year old active female golden retriever. Please let me know.
David Elizabeth: what would you consider to be a highly active dog? My dog gets any where from 20-60 minutes of waking 5-6 days per week. Is 10% fat adequate for this level of activity?
He is active and running and playing and eating well 3 days ago because of skin rash vet prescribed him 625mg Augmentin once a day along with omega 3 syrup 20ml a day and he weigh 39 kg.... but since last day his potty color is little dark as shown in attached photo ....kindly see is the color ok and without blood or why it's dark?
My dog who weights 6.9kg ate 50g chocolate on friday morning at half 10 he went to vets at 5.00pm on friday and they said his heart rate was fine just to keep an eye on him. Hes been active enough and no sickness or diarrhea. Will he be ok or is he still in a danger zone?
How much exercise does my pet need to maintain a healthy weight?
