How to outsmart my bird

Rues mom

Half the water on the floor is better than all the water out of the bowl. My playful bird thinks water is fun and made a game of flipping all his water out of his bowl all the time! Thank goodness for this ingenious bowl to out smart this ‘smart’ bird. The low profile allows for bathing as well.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Easy for the bird to access. I put it on the door of my large cage so it’s easy to put on and off. My 3-4 month old budgie used it immediately which surprised me. She had been trying to bathe in her drinking cup before this.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Outsmart My African Grey?!

Sinopian

So far it’s African Grey proof. My Grey manages to “unlock” every feed/water dish place in his cage, at least until now. I’m using the Bird Bath as his water dish and he has yet to “unlock”the dish and spill its contents making a watery mess.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Do you have this in Bigger sizes for birds like African Greys?? Right now Rio's been trying to take his bath in his water dish!! I thought this would be perfect!

  1. We have used limits for our conures (one named Reo) but they prefer their water bowls! I gave up and when I see them trying to bathe I just add more water. One of ours-now departed-liked to stand on one of the larger ladders placed across the sink while I ran a small stream of water. He’d play for several minutes. Regards. Pkt

Is it good for two parakeets?

  1. It will be good for one bird at a time. It worked ok for my cockatiels.

My Macaw loves a shower but the water here is 'hard water'. I'm willing to give this a try on top of her cage. Wish us luck.

  1. a macaw will probably not fit in the bird bath, it is for medium to small size birds.

Will it attach to the door of a parrot cage? My green cheek conure spends most of his time outside of his cage, with the door open.

  1. it can attach to most any wires so as long as your door is a wire cage material, yes it can. Just keep in mind when you swing the door open or shut water might splash out.

How do you set this up for parakeets?

  1. simply attach the clamps/brackets to a cage wire, these are great for Parakeets and many people use as a food dish as well.

cockatiel?

  1. Thank you for your question. The Quick Lock Bird Bath is appropriate for cockatiels.

inside or outside

  1. I have mine inside the cage. But since my Pionus prefers a shower (we spray him when the vacuum cleaner is running, see my review), I use it as a fruit and veggie tray.

Is this okay to use for a Green Cheek Conure?

  1. It is a perfect size for our green cheek conure.

How does this attach to side of cage?

  1. Hi there! I don't know if you still need an answer, after 10 months to your question about the bird bath from Dr. fosters and Smith or not. I can tell you this, my cockatiel's cage is also a custom-made cage of some kind of very hard wire that has rectangles which are not large and it fits thru them just fine. How it works is there is a small bolt that goes through the opening of the cage from the inside and then you place a provided washer and butterfly toggle nut on the outside and screw them down until its nice and snug and you are done. Voila! Bath time. Hope this helps

Is this bird bath made in a larger size?

  1. No. It is only available in one standard size. It is best suited for smaller birds.
