My cat loves it the only problem is if you break it up with your fingers you will find very sharp pieces of chicken bones in it . I took some of the sharp pieces to my veterinarian and she sad it might be harmful to my cat digestive system so I bought a very small coffee bean blender and blend the food into powder form is their any way that you could contact the manufacturer and ask them to grind the chicken bone to powder form please respond thank you very much .

My Cat Loves These!!

My cat loves these and looks forward to them. He comes over to me and paws me until I go get him some. I’ve noticed that his fur has become much nicer since I’ve been giving him these. I like that it’s freeze dried, I feel it’s healthier. There’s no garbage ingredients in this.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not impressed

Both of my cats hated it. They smelled it & tried to cover it like it smelled bad. I tried wetting it, breaking it up, nothing. I'm sure it's good if you don't have fussy cats.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hole in bag, Disappointed

I buy this product regularly and have been happy with it. My cat loves it. This time, when I got home I noticed a hole in the bottom of the bag. My cat also won’t eat it this time. I wonder how if the product is stale now because of the home in the bag. I am very disappointed because I cannot afford to buy this product for my cat not to eat!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Absolutely love this, my baby who is 3 years old I thought was always a more lazy cat has definitely become a whole new cat. She’s more energetic, happy, loves her food, has zoomies more often, and overall just seems healthier. I hope to see other meat options available in the future and I’ll be here to try. <3

Questions

1 - 10 of 10 Questions

Can this food completely replace regular dry cat food?

  1. Apparently it can be. The bag says "complete and balanced." I don't use it to replace everything else. It would be too expensive and I prefer to give my cats more variety so they don't get used to one thing or be deprived of other nutrients.

If I free feed this to my cats, do I need to be aware of bacteria growing because it's raw ingredients?

  1. No, its freeze dried. My cats love the stuff. Honestly, I can't buy enough of the stuff.

Can this be fed to ferrets?

  1. Hello! Our food is formulated and intended for dogs & cats only. Thanks!

How should this be stored after opening?

  1. Hello! We recommend keeping the Raw Meals in a cool dark place at room temperature and sealed between feedings. Thanks!

How many cups per package?

  1. The bag weighs 9.5 oz. There are 8 oz. in a cup. If you crumble the nuggets and add water, it goes a lot further.

Can this be blended with water? One of my cats prefers canned food, but I'd like to switch them all to raw over the next year.

  1. If you’re talking about the freeze dried pellets, I use water all the time. I put just a little bit of hot water to kind of make it a little softer and my kitty eats it fine. Sometimes I give them his treats. But as a wet food or a dry food they both work fine.

Can you feed this to cats that have urinary issues, specifically a history of struvite crystals?

  1. Hi there! Although our food is formulated to meet all AAFCO nutrient requirements to be complete and balanced for all life stages, it’s not formulated for special needs pets. For pets with special needs, we recommend consulting with your trusted veterinarian to choose the right food. If your vet has certain nutrient requirements, we will be happy to work with them to try to find a good diet for your pet. Thanks!

What's with the clay in the ingredients? Doesn't sound like a natural food ingredient to me.

  1. Hello, Montmorillonite Clay is an ingredient in all of our diets. We use Montmorillonite Clay sourced from deposits in southern Utah and we have used this same natural source for many years. Montmorillonite Clay is approved by AAFCO for use as an anticaking processing aid to absorb excess moisture and to help keep the food from clumping. Nature's Variety is committed to using high quality, safe ingredients. We take great pride in our diets and formulas and we stand behind our products every step of the way.

Is this a new version?

  1. Hi There! Yes, our Freeze Dried Meals have just recently launched this year! :)

I have a 10 pound cat. You recommend 3/4 cup. Your peoduct is sold by weight. How many cups are in the 9.5 ounce package. I'm trying to figure how much I need for a week. Thanks

  1. I feed my animals raw (the actual red, bloody kind) and with feeding that type raw, the recommendation is always to feed between 2 and 3% of their IDEAL body weight. I would assume the same would be true for this, since it is raw in freeze dried form. So, in that instance, if you take your (assuming 10lbs is your cats ideal weight) 10lbs , then if you want to feed 2.5% of his body weight, you multiply by .025, which gives you .25 that you multiply by 16 for # of ounces in a pound. So, that would equal 4oz per day. And I would go by the hydrated weight, so the food weight AFTER you add water to it, which I would DEFINITELY do. I have fed my animals by that formula for years, and all 6 are perfect weight. Good Luck!!
