We have used ours for over 2 years for our border collie lab. It operates on a swivel so weight is no issue. It comes with all of the hardware. I don't have the exact measurement but as with the weight it should be in the details on the ad. It has a safety tab above the latch. We have never used that so I just tape it up above the latch holes to keep it out of the way. My grandson helped me install it. I am handy but it's good to have another set of hands for lining it up. Thank you for your inquiry. The whole panel is a gate, so it should lay against a wall, but this does connect via screws, so you would have to unscrew it and screw it back in if you wanted to take it down.

Yes, the Duragate can swing in either direction. If you'd like it to open in just one direction, you can use the stop bracket included in the hardware pack. It's optional to install.
