My 2 love birds seem to be bored and unhappy quite a bit, i think that they may need some toys to cheer them up? what would you prefer i do and what kind of toys would be best for them?
Some toys or changes to the environment are definitely a great way to help reduce boredom. You can look for toys that are soft or fuzzy to encourage preening and chewing behavior, or toys that can move around such as swings or bendy ladders for exercise. Treats that have to be pecked at are also great enrichment. Just be sure to choose toys that are designed for your bird's size and activity level. If you have a pair, you may also want to add in a nest or some nesting material to encourage building and give them extra enrichment.

There are many places to look for budgie toys online, and doing a simple google search can help you find them. Looking at places such as Petco (if available in your area), Drs Foster Smith, etc, or other online pet stores can give you an idea of what's available and can be shipped to you. most places will also mark the size of the toy so you can pick out ones appropriate for budgies.

So this is kinda strange my parakeets manage to snap the long stick in half and shave it down on a certain spot quite a bit they have a block so they can shave their claws and beaks so I don't know why they snap the stick also I realize in the pictur
It is not uncommon for birds to chew at one particular spot on a perch. It looks like you have a number of wooden dowel perches in the cage - you could try to vary these by providing Manzanita wood perches (they look more like branches) and this may provide them with some areas that they can clean their beaks and wear their nails as well. For your question about the food dishes - it is very common for birds to only utilize materials (including food, water, toys, and perches) that are at the top of their cage. The reason for this is that they typically live in the trees, so they like to be high up the majority of the time. I would advise removing the dishes that are down low, and only providing dishes high in the cage. You can still provide multiple dishes if desired, in case you have some competition for food among the birds in the family. I hope that answers your questions, and thanks for using Boop by Petco!

thanks for reaching out about Zucchini. Boredom is common in pet birds. In the wild, they tend to spend 70-80% of their day foraging for food, but we place it all in a bowl. So hiding food around, using foraging toys will help to occupy this little brain. Good luck.

It's always difficult to assess any animals level of happiness, but I can definitely tell you that this bird does not seem unhappy. The humping and regurgitation (puking) tell me that Toetie is very comfortable in his environment and has formed a bond with you. Also, he appears rather healthy from the pictures you've submitted. I think the most important things to keep a bird happy are supplying good enrichment and as much space as you can possibly give. Enrichment can be as simple as letting the bird out of the cage, interacting with the bird, or giving toys. I understand that he does not seem to be interested in toys, so it may take some experimenting to find out which ones he may like. I have found that the best enrichment can be achieved by making the bird work for its food. There are plenty of toys for sale that you can hide food in and the bird has to either solve a puzzle or dismantle it to get the prize. I used to feed my parrot most of his food this way and it real
