Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! I understand your worry, Peanut is having a big day! The vet will perform a physical exam on Peanut. I am sure if you ask when you drop her off to have the Vet call you after she/he looks at Peanut they will. That way you can discuss your concerns and "meet" the Vet in a sense. Since Peanut is older, at a minimum, I would want blood work and X-rays of her chest. Maybe you can discuss those things over the phone and if they have the ability to run the blood work in house they can do that before anesthesia. The raw hide from 2 days ago should be broken down by now. Good luck today!

I don't know much about how they spay dogs in China, but I can't say I have ever heard of a dog requiring a four day hospital stay after this procedure. Here in the USA, most dogs will either go home the same day or the day after the procedure. Although a spay is an intra-abdominal procedure were an organ is removed, they tend to wake up well and not particularly painful. Unless they are using some method in China that is far more involved, I would think that the same day method is more in line with realistic.

I would recommend contacting local humane society groups to see if there is assistance for veterinary care in your area. Here are some other options. You might be able to qualify for care credit if needed http://m.humanesociety.org/animals/resources/tips/trouble_affording_veterinary_care.html Or occasionally the service dog organization that trained her may be able to help. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

I would strongly recommend a veterinary visit for Duke. It sounds like he may have a bit of flea allergy dermatitis or a hotspot from the fleas as well as fleas. There are some great newer generations Flea and tick medications but they are prescription only; either oral or topical. Being a lab, if he is in the water a lotThe topical treatments are not likely to be as effective. Someone of the oral medications such as nex guard or bravecto or comfortis may be ideal for Duke. And from your description he may need some systemic antibiotics or steroids to help clear up his infection. Good luck I hope Duke get some relief soon and thank you for using Boop by Petco.
