Hi Jack! I would recommend a pocket pet such as a guinea pig or a hamster. They are relatively low maintenance (you will have to change their cage regularly as well as feed and give water to daily), but are fine with being alone while you are at school. They are also great pets to have, I had a hamster growing up named Alvin and he was really cool. Good luck with becoming a vet in the future!

Hi and thank you for your question, It's difficult to say really. The type of laxative is important to know. You would have to watch him closely for the next day and rush him to the vet if he develops a significant diarrhea or any other abnormal sign. Alternatively, you could take him to the vet and have them watch him for the day just in case. that would be even better. Regards

Thanks for reaching out about your guinea pig. This sounds serious and should not wait until Saturday. Anorexia for 2 days is a serious concern, four to five days might be fatal. You might have to check for clinics open later in the evening. Offering food and water via a syringe might improve things, but is not a cure. Check with the Petco veterinarian to inquire on their experience with exotic animal. Investigating which local veterinarian has the most exotics experience might prove beneficial. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out an including a photo. At home for now, keeping the rectal area clean with a baby wipes or warm moistened wash clothes. Any fecal matter should be removed as soon as possible. Offering Pedialyte through a syringe, then wettened rodent pellets for calories. Diarrhea in rodents has many causes including bacteria and parasites. A visit to the veterinarian would be a better chance at least to perform a fecal exam for parasites. Store purchased products have a poorer prognosis for recovery that veterinary products and after a targeted diagnosis. Good luck.

Thank you for using Boop by Petco! The feces in the photo appears to be Stanley’s night feces. This is a normal type of feces for rabbits to make and is normally consumed directly from the anus, which is why most owners do not see it. Most rabbits eat this feces based on their vitamin needs and it can vary day to day. I recommend feeding Stanley a diet of rabbit pellets, hay, and occasional fresh fruits and veggies. Other human foods should be avoided. I hope this helps and am happy to answer any other questions you may have!
