It looks like it is still available through Petsmart and Petco website for an online order, or you can wait until your vet opens on tomorrow to get it there if they keep it in stock. Typically your vet can get it ordered pretty quickly for their patients. Jaydee should be fine if it takes a week or two to get his Rx food. Visit your local pet store and get Hill's Science diet senior food (small bag) for now to hold him over.

When purchased through a veterinarian the company will most often guarantee the effectiveness. This is usually not the case with products bought online or over the counter. When sold through a veterinarian the company that manufactures the product will stand behind the product and often pay for medical treatment should the product not work for some reason. The veterinarian also knows how to properly store the product so that it does not get damaged or becomes ineffective. Finally, sometimes over the counter products or products sold online can be counterfeit or even dangerous to use. Your veterinarian also knows what particular products tend to be most effective for your location.

I am wanting to purchase a dog from an online ad. This wouldn't be my first option... I know adopting from rescues and breeders are better but I have yet to find a dog that meets my preferences in a shelter & don't have enough money for an expensive
It's great that you're trying to plan ahead and make sure you're asking good questions! I'm not sure what breed you're looking at, but in general, I would definitely consider saving up a bit to purchase a puppy from a reputable breeder if you can. Even if the purchase price is a bit higher than a puppy from an online ad, getting a pup from a more reliable source can save you a lot of heartache (and money!) down the line by avoiding costly health issues and behavioral problems due to poor breeding. If you do opt to go ahead and purchase a puppy through on ad online, I would talk to the breeder/seller about the following things: 1) Make sure the puppies are AKC registered. Even if you want "just a pet", no responsible breeder would be breeding dogs that aren't AKC registered. It's a big red flag that you're dealing with a puppy mill or really careless backyard breeder. 2) Ask what health clearances the puppies' parents have had, and ask to see documentation. Thank you for contacting Boop by Petco. I personally have found some resistance to Frontline, so I will give a flea treatment program that has always worked for me. First, I would give him Capstar. It's a one time pill that starts killing fleas within 30 minutes. Then follow up with a spot on treatment, such as Advantage or Revolution. This is a treatment that has to be used once a month. You will also have to disinfect the environment. Wash his bedding in hot soapy water, and vacuum the furniture and carpet surfaces. You can use a spray to kill fleas in the house, such as Indorex, or a flea bomb would work well to kill the fleas in the home. I hope this helps!
