Dachshunds tend to be snugglers, and also love to be buried (like under a blanket!). I'd look into a dog bed (or even a large cat bed) that has a [clamshell or hooded design](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/harmony-hooded-cave-cat-bed-in-grey) that she can crawl into and be covered up by it. Most smaller dogs (especially dachshunds) tend to like this [cave type bed](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/snoozer-luxury-micro-suede-cozy-cave-pet-bed-in-anthracite).

Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco.\ You can use any type of filler you would like however, most of what you will find is polyester types. You can purchase "stuffing" at any fabric type store like JoAnn Fabrics. ( https://www.joann.com/sewing/foam-and-fiber/fiberfill/ ) Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Unfortunately, this is one of these situations that really stinks. Yes, of course you want Moose to be comfortable, but you also don't want him to be in surgery the next day having blankets removed from his intestines! If it were my dog, I simply wouldn't risk it. I would maybe try to put something very thin in there, like a bed sheet, and see if he still tries to destroy that. One other option you can try is to spray whatever you put in there with bitter apple spray (https://www.chewy.com/grannicks-bitter-apple-original-dog/dp/46006?utm_source=google-product&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=hg&utm_content=Grannick%27s%20Bitter%20Apple&utm_term=&gclid=CjwKEAjw85DIBRCy2aT0hPmS1jkSJAC1m9Uvv8OwVDmskFB6pFbR3iGy9Bna8uuuI2KuZPeahNIfOxoCtIzw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) Dog's usually don't like how it tastes so they won't put it in their mouth. Some dog don't like how it smell either unfortunately, so it may not be the most enjoyable experience for Moose. The safest best would be to leave the crate empt

Object sucking (or nibbling) is common in dogs, typically seen in dogs that were [weaned](https://www.petcoach.co/article/weaning-puppies) too early. It is a self-soothing behavior, much like thumb sucking in small children. There is no harm to your dog to engage in this behavior unless she begins to ingest the blankets. Restricting access may actually increase her stress, but you can try to restrict access to the particular room if she has a favorite blanket. If that isn't possible, [calming aids](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/category/dog/dog-health-and-wellness/dog-calming-aids), such as[ pheromone products](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/adaptil-30-day-diffuser-plug-in-starter-kit-for-dogs), may be effective in easing any stress or anxiety causing her to nibble. Try to determine and reduce or eliminate the offending stimulus if there is one.

You can put four screws with eyeholes in the box . . . one in each corner. Then get some yards of felt and cut them the size of the box floor. Sew little elastic loops at each corner, and put your newspapers down in the box. Cover them with a piece of felt, which you secure to the screw in each corner by looping the elastic over the eyehole. I usually do this once the bitch is done nursing the puppies. If you want a fluffier base, buy some thick (fake) sheepskin and do the same as above with it. You won;t need newspapers underneath. Both the felt and the sheepskin are machine washable and drable, so you can change them every time they're soiled and put fresh ones down.
