I like Orijen dog foods. I have several patients on it that do very well.
There is no one dog food that is the "best available." If you ask 10 different vets you will get 10 different opinions on which is their favorite. My favorite is whatever the pet does well on. After feeding a new food for 1 month, I recommend evaluating your pet. Do they have good energy levels? No vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation? Shiny, glossy hair coat? No flatulence? No unexpected weight loss or weight gain? If your pet is doing well, then you have selected a good food!
Personally, I feed all of my pets Purina Pro Plan. I like the ingredients and the cost fits in my pet care budget. They love eating it and are very healthy on it!
