Hello. I am so sorry that your question has gone unanswered for so long. As long as the antibiotic is used at the prescribed dose & for the prescribed time, there is very little chance of retinal damage occurring in Echo. Orbax has been available for many years & was in fact developed to address the retinal issue seen with some other fluoroquinolones. It is a good & safe antibiotic for cats. Aw, handsome boy! I'm sorry he's having some issues. While I wouldn't say its dangerous to give clavamox and orbax together, I don't recommend that you do that without talking to your vet about doing a urine culture, to identify for certain what bacteria are present and what medications will kill the bacteria. Treating without knowing whether the additional antibiotic is necessary could lead to bacteria becoming resistant to those medications. Ensure that he IS ABLE to urinate and pass urine, as male cats tend to have very small urethras and could get an obstruction in their urethras from inflammation of the tissue and crystalline and mucoid debris in the urine. Occasionally, stones may form in the bladder and can also cause obstruction in the urethra. If your vet didn't do an Xray, you may want to talk to your vet about doing that if the problem persists. For now, if he IS DEFINITELY passing urine, he's eating, and he seems to be feeling ok (not vomiting, etc), ensure he's g

Yes, your suspicion is right, Antibiotics are likely to be needed. Unfortunately without prescription it is going to be difficult to obtain any antibiotic and we are not allowed to make any prescription through this platform. Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address your concern. Salem may need a second course of an antibiotic but a different antibiotic as there may be a bacterial organisms not being targeted by the Orbax. There may be a large amount of material accumulated in the sinus so a sinus flush under anesthesia may be needed to help remove all of the chronic build up of mucous in the sinus. A steroid may also be warranted to reduce the inflammation in the sinus. I would also suggest having chest x-rays to assess the lungs. I hope this helps guide you in the right direction! Hello. It sounds like Bean has an ear infection so the Baytril Otic would be used for that. Famciclovir is an anti viral medication generally used to treat feline herpes virus, a very common upper respiratory infection in cats.
