Hi there I would like to know what do you think about MyOllie.com dog food?
It is very new so no vets really have much experience with this food. That being said, I have heard of it and I know a few clients that use it and love it. I am OK with it because they use AAFCO standards. Any food that is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles should be fine to feed. I have a Maltese/ shiztu mix she is about 5 pounds. I was wondering if a raw diet was a good idea. I was looking at Ollie dog food. She does well with Kahoots brand all stages. What is your advice?
I personally do not like raw diets. They are hard to get balanced correctly, and there is a risk of salmonella and E.coli poisoning to both the dog and owner. Patches would be fine on dry dog food. Brands I recommend include Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan, and Iams. I hope this helps!

There are many varied and strong opinions on this subject. A good quality, complete kibble is an appropriate diet for your dog and avoids the risks of under or over supplying essential nutrients as well as the risks of food poisoning type issues with raw food. Not all brands will suit all dogs and it may take a little time to find the best diet for your dog, which may change as he gets older or develops any health concerns

Real Nature seems to be a very high quality food, it is not one i am familiar with but the ingredient list is quite impressive. if he is doing well on this brand i would probably stick with it. other excelent options include Orijen, Acana and taste of the wild.

There is no one "best" dog food. Choose a brand that is easy for you to get, one that Opie will eat and one that doesn't cause GI upset or other issues. If you can find a food that satisifes these 3 things, that's the one to feed. Stay away from store or discount brands. They typically contain low quality ingredients and more fillers. Premium brands include Canidae, Orijen and Acana. The website www.dogfoodadvisor.com is an excellent resource for comparing diets. Always transition to a new diet slowly to prevent stomach upset.
