Can you please suggest the best litter box for an adult (121/2) years old who is blind in left eye, right eye is fuzzy...Lucy has been suffering with mobility issues especially with left hind leg. I appreciate any feedback and suggestions
Thank you for submitting your question regarding Lucy. If she has mobility and vision issues, I recommend using a non-traditional litterbox. You can purchase a large storage container such as a Sterilite. Then use the lid as a litterbox. This provides a large surface area with a very low lip. It will be messy if she digs and buries, but I have had many geriatric patients prefer this to a normal litterbox. I hope this information helps!

Best thing to do is to get a long, shallow plastic storage container (obviously just the box and not the lid) like the ones you get to store things under the bed. Seems to work the best. Cats like it because it is long. ( https://www.walmart.com/ip/Homz-60-Quart-Twin-King-Under-Bed-Clear-Latching-Storage-set-of-2/40977741 ) Other option is to take a regular large storage container and cut a hole in it on the side so he can go in/out. You can make it any size you want. I use Yesteday News which is pelleted litter made from recycled newspaper. They also have pelleted pine litter. The pellets are bigger and don’t track out of the litter box, and don’t stick to their feet. I use just a small amount and clean it daily. I also have a robot vacuum and it vacuums daily on a schedule so the house is clean without me having to do it. The vacuum was one of my favorite purchases ever! Adopted 3mo kitten use to paper pellet litter. Always uses litter box. I'm trying to find non dusty, I live in single wide trailer, clumping and unscented. What do you suggest I try?
You could try a corn or wheat based litter like World's Best Cat Litter or Swheat Scoop, or a wood litter like Okocat if you want to avoid clay litter. You could also try a clay based low dust litter like Dr. Elsey's. Even though she is used to pellets the transition to a clay litter could be fine - I'd start by putting out a litter box with the new litter while still keeping the old one and if she starts using the new one take the old one away.

I have been using Tidy Cats Lightweight litter for my now 14 yr old cat, for a couple of years. For the last couple of months the litter seems to stick to her feet, legs and tail so consequently appears all over the house. I have been using the 24/7
It's worth a shot to see if it is just the brand rather than the litter format. As cats can be picky about litter types, be sure to do a gradual changeover to the new litter to prevent Olivia from avoiding it or using elsewhere to go potty. A litter mat outside of the box may also help wipe her feet and fur some, reducing the spread throughout the house.
