Thanks for using Boop by Petco! While in theory it should be ok, this is not a common combination of medications so it’s effect has not been really studied. For that reason, I would have you checked with your prescribing veterinarian to ensure they are ok with that as they know Poppy’s medical history. Have a great day!

Unfortunately, by law it is illegal for the experts at Boop by Petco to give the dose information for any drug without seeing the animal in person first. That's because doing so requires a veterinary client patient relationship which cannot be achieved via an internet forum. In addition, the experts cannot say for certain if a specific drug is safe for your dog. You need to take Demi into the vet who can prescribe Meloxicam to him and can give him the correct dose.

Unfortunately, we are not permitted to give out drug dosages without a veterinarian - client - pet relationship. If you are seeking this information, I would obtain it through a veterinarian in person or through a veterinary formulary such as Plumb's or Merck. Hope this makes sense.

Meloxidyl (meloxicam) is a NSAID and should not be used in conjunction with prednisone or any other steroid. There should be at least a 3-4 day wash out period between use. Ideally, you should wait at least a full week. That could be nasal or oral discharge. It could also be the tumor spreading. You can definitely try a warm compress to soften and clean up dried discharge. If it doesn't come off, then it could be tumor. You would need to have him physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose it. If Willy is very painful, have him seen at the nearest veterinary ER. The doctors can dispense or administer different medications for pain, such as buprenorphine (Buprenex), that can be used in conjunction with Pred.
