A change in fecal consistency is not unusual when the seasons change. Weather can affect water & sugar content in all forages. As long as they are eating & drinking & acting normal, I would not be overly concerned. If you have not dewormed, this is a good time to do so using Equimax Gold, or Quest. If either horse continues with the soft stool, & especially if you notice any weight loss, please contact your veterinarian. Thank you for using Boop by Petco.

Hello. If she is not having any issues, then there is usually nothing more to give her except for plenty of good grass hay, some concentrates, either as a sweet feed or a pelleted feed, & a salt block. A senior pelleted feed might be appropriate for Destiny, but if you are concerned about a health issue, you should consult your veterinarian for this. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

Hello. The first thing to consider is the overall health of your horse. Has she been examined for any medical problems, including intestinal parasites, dental issues, metabolic problems or problems with organ function such as with the liver. If the mare is relatively healthy, a good quality pelleted equine senior feed is best. To this I will recommend either Manna Pros Equine Accelerator or Cool Calories to get the extra fats & calories an older horse may need. Hope this helps & thanks for using Boop by Petco.

She may be very tired. I would check to see if there is heat in her feet and make sure she’s eating and drinking. You may want to get her up at some point and walk her around to check for lameness and enable the foal to nurse. If you pick up any abnormalities please have her checked right away. What a cutie! This may have started as rain rot but now it looks like there is a secondary infection. I recommend cleaning the area with iodine solution twice daily and keeping him out of tall wet grass or brush which can aggravate this. You can use fly leg protectors to keep flies off it and protect the areas. I do recommend a veterinary exam and treatment since he may need antibiotics or antifungal medication to get this resolved. Thanks for using Boop by Petco to help you care for your horse.
